MBGS’ Senior Geologist Kim Straub recently presented at the NSW Underground Geotechnical Society (NUGS) Workshop. Several talks were presented at the September meeting, covering a range of geotechnical aspects of underground mining. Kim’s talk discussed manual vs automated acoustic scanner interpretation, with a case study using data from four projects showing the differences in interpretation results between the two methods and highlighting the concerns of data reliability from automated interpretations.
