Our Managing Director, Kerry Whitby, was invited by the University of the Andes in Bogota, Colombia to deliver a virtual lecture to lawyers and mining professionals as part of a comprehensive course on Mining Law that included reporting codes for resources and reserves used in the mining industry. In early April the course was delivered jointly with Jader Yubran, a Mining Law specialist with Glencore’s Colombia team with particular emphasis on the Colombian Code for Reporting Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves. Kerry was invited to present through his experience in the resources sector within Australia and globally, but also as a result of his involvement and support in the development of the Colombian Code that was accepted by CRIRSCO in 2018.
