MBGS held its annual photographic competition in December 2017 with staff invited to submit entries for three categories:
- Geology General – photographs which show geology in composition or nature.
- MBGS Work – photographs related to MBGS work.
- Wear in the World – photographs need to feature the official MBGS logo.
Prizes were awarded for the most popular photograph in each category:
- Geology General – ‘Red Rocks’ by J. Bartolo
- MBGS Work – ‘Permian Plant Perfection’ by J. Walton
- Wear in the World – ‘On-site Office’ by L. Zaarour
