The Coal Operators’ Conference has been held at the University of Wollongong since 1998. The conference is organised by the Illawarra Branch of the AusIMM, the University of Wollongong and the Coal Mine Managers Association of Australia. This year our ASIMS team presented a paper discussing stress, strength and joint patterns in NSW and QLD coalfields using information from acoustic scanner and sonic velocity logs.
